Four Notorious Cultists Arrested In Badagry

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four members of rival cult groups over their nefarious and criminal activities plaguing Badagry area of Lagos State.

The suspects arrested in various parts of Badagry Lagos State in an operation that lasted days are Gbenga Fransisco Olanrenwaju aka Gbengene aged 40, Asokere Segun aka Seriki aged 36, Adediran Ibrahim aka Kush aged 23, and Jimoh Sodiq Irawo aged 27 was.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the suspects were arrested following a painstaking weeks-long investigation into incessant complaints of cult-related disturbances and killings in Badagry and its environs.

Confirming the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Ikeja-Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects belong to Eiye and Aiye confraternities. Suspects would be arraigned after a more comprehensive investigation.

Recall that last month Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested two leaders of rival cult gangs and 10 others for the incessant cult and gang wars happening in Agege area of Lagos.

The arrested kingpins are Rasheed Abdulateef, popularly known as Adagun aged 25, and Abubakar Mohammed aka Yaba, aged 29.

Other suspects nabbed include Daramola Idowu, Anjorin Lateef, Akeem Odusanya, Sulayman Odusanya, Alasela Olamilekan, Apelogun Elijah, Musa Mali, Moses Sunday, Isiaka Hassan, and Musa Thairu.

They were arrested in sting operations spanning two weeks led by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.

However, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has assured Lagosians that the Command will continue to combat cultism and related crimes towards ensuring lasting peace in the state.
