Police Arrest Pastor For Supplying Member’s Information To Kidnappers

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a self-acclaimed pastor, Ruth Kenneth, for allegedly selling information of her church members to kidnappers.

The 37-year-old female preacher was reported to the police by a congregant who suspected a foul play after the suspect told her a vision that kidnappers were after her.

The suspect’s conversation with the kidnappers was tracked by the police, leading to the arrest of the mother of seven that boast to heal different kinds of diseases.

According to reports, the patient, who was sick, visited the suspect’s prayer house along Numan Road in Yola and was told after a prayer session that kidnapers were after him.

The victim told the aforementioned publication that, “When my children and son-in-law took me to her prayer house for healing, she told me that she saw in a vision during prayers that my name was given to kidnappers, and that to avert being kidnapped I should buy a two-year-old ram without bargaining (over) its price.

“According to her, she needed the ram for a sacrifice to keep the kidnappers away from me. That after slaughtering the ram, she will pull one of its horns, remove something from its heart and mix it with some herbs.

“That after completing the concoction, she will bury the horn within my compound, after which no man would be able to attack my house or harm me and my family members.”

The patient told the suspect that she would have to return home to raise the money.

However, four days after he got home, the victim said he got a phone call asking for N10m else he and some family members would be kidnapped.

The state police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed her arrest, said “operatives of the Command apprehended her and investigation is ongoing”.
