19-year-old artisan arraigned in Lagos Court

A 19-year-old mechanic, Lekan Wasiu, has been arraigned in court for stealing an SUV in Lagos.

Nigeriacrime.com, Wasiu who resides in Bolar community of Ajah, was arrested and dragged to court for attempting to steal a GAC SUV car valued at N14 million at Aderemi Akeju Street, Ifako, Lagos

The police prosecutor, Insp. Donjour Perezi said; “One Franklin Ngaba reported that he went for a meeting and parked his SUV car on Aderemi Akeju Street, Ifako, Lagos, when his host, Tajudeen Gafari, came to ask who owned said vehicle.

“Tajudeen said the defendant had opened the car and was about to drive it away when he was caught in the act.

Perezi said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 406 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate M.O Tanimola who presided over the case, granted Wasiu a bail of N500,000 before adjourning the case until June 23 for mention.

In a related development a 20-year-old man, Babangida Isah, from Tike quarters in Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State has been arrested by the Gombe State Police Command for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl, name withheld.

The spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Mahid Abubakar, while parading the suspect before newsmen, said one Yahaya Isah came to the Divisional Police headquarters and reported that the suspect lured his five-year-old daughter, behind an Almajiri school and forcefully raped her.
