Operatives attached to the Zamfara Police Command have rescued a 20-year-old victim who was abducted by bandits in Tsafe – Kucheri – Yankara area of the state.
The victim identified as Abdulrahman Abubakar, a native of Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State was rescued successfully after spending three days in captivity, on 10th February 2023, by the Police Tactical Operatives on confidence building/rescue mission operation along Tsafe – Kucheri – Yankara road.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the victim has been reunited with his family.
Confirming the rescue operation, SP Mohammed Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer, said the operation was part of the Zamfara State Command’s commitment to protecting lives and properties in the State.
According to Shehu, on February 10 February 2023, the Police Tactical Operatives on a confidence building/rescue mission operation along Tsafe – Kucheri – Yankara road successfully rescued a 20-year-old Abdulrahman Abubakar, a native of Gwandu Emirate in Kebbi State. The rescue of the victim is part of the Command’s ongoing effort to stem the tide of kidnapping and other related crimes in Zamfara State.
In the course of debriefing the victim, he informed the Police that he was abducted on Monday 7th February 2023 in Gwandu by unidentified people on Motorcycle, where he was taken to the forest and spent three (3) days in captivity. The victim was rushed to the Police clinic for a medical check and thereafter reunited with his family/Relations.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf congratulates the rescued victim for regaining his freedom and assures for Police of continuous commitment to rescue other victims in captivity. The CP further reassures the protection of the lives and property of the citizens.
