A 20-year-old man, Jamilu Haruna, is currently being investigated by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Katsina for allegedly trafficking illicit drugs.
Nigeriacrime.com gathered that Haruna, a native of Charanchi Local Government Area, was arrested while returning from Lagos to Charanchi on February 17th during a routine stop and search patrol along the Kano-Katsina Expressway.
According to ASN Bashir Adamu, the NDLEA spokesperson for Katsina, during the search operations of passengers and their belongings, the suspect was discovered to have three different types of drugs concealed inside the rear tube of a broken bicycle belonging to the suspect.
The seized drugs include:
154 grams of Cannabis Sativa, 6.3 grams of Diazepam Pills and 8.6 grams of Exol-5
Adamu stated that investigations are ongoing to gather further information that could lead to the arrest of potential accomplices. He also emphasised the NDLEA’s commitment to curbing drug abuse and trafficking within Katsina State and called for public cooperation in achieving these objectives.
