21-Year-Old Remanded In Oyo Prison For Armed Robbery

A 21-year-old man, Lateef Ojo, has been remanded by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, Oyo State over alleged conspiracy and armed robbery.

The defendant, whose residential address was not provided, was remanded in a correctional center on Friday.

He is answering for alleged conspiracy and armed robbery.

According to the Police Prosecutor, ASP Oluyemi Eyiaromi, he said Ojo committed the offence at about 1:30 pm on October 19, at Odo-Ono Kekere Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Narrating what happened on the fateful day, the Police Prosecutor alleged that Ojo, and some of his gang members who are presently being hunted by the police others, armed themselves with knives and cutlasses to rob a resident, Olanleyin Aliyu.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 6(b), 1(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.

The Magistrate, Mrs. S. I Babalola, did not take the defendant’s plea due to lack of jurisdiction.
