3 months after Kuje prison outbreak another escapee nabbed in Kano

Three months after the prison outbreak at Kuje Correctional facility outbreak in Federal Capital Territory, FCT, a suspected escapee identified as Abubakar Mohammed Sadiq, has been arrested by operatives of Kano Police.

NigeriaCrime.com learned that Sadiq was arrested at Rangaza Quarters, Ungogo LGA, Kano State following credible information and sustained intelligence gathering.

According to the spokesperson, Kano State Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna who confirmed the suspect’s arrest, “Sadiq was arrested at Rangaza Quarters, Ungogo LGA, Kano State following credible information and sustained intelligence gathering.”

“On 23 September 2022 at about 6 pm, based on credible information and sustained intelligence gathering, a team of Operation Restore Peace attached to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department arrested one, Abubakar Mohammed Sadiq, 25 years old of Badarawa Quarters, Kaduna North LGA, Kaduna State, a suspected Kuje Correctional Centre escapee.”

Haruna explained that the Commissioner of Police directed that the suspected escapee be handed over to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kano State Command.

The suspect was arrested at Rangaza Quarters, Ungogo LGA, Kano State. The Commissioner of Police directed that the suspected escapee be handed over to the Nigeria Correctional Service, Kano State Command.

“The Commissioner of Police appreciates the good people of Kano State for their continuous support, encouragement and cooperation. He also urged residents to continue to pray for the State, and the Nation and report incidents to the nearest Police Station and not take laws into their hands,” SP Haruna added.

The Police spokesperson however said that raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State as the Command will sustain the tempo in ensuring a peaceful atmosphere in Kano State.
