Following the alleged murder of Prof. Felix Akpan at his residence in Calabar the Cross River state Police Command on Tuesday disclosed that it has made three more arrests
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the former Dean of Student Affairs, UNICAL was found dead with multiple stabs on Sunday morning at his 181 Duke Town close, behind Mega Hilton Hotel, Calabar.
Findings showed that the Professor of Political Science lived alone at the apartment where he was found dead while his family lives in Canada.
It will be recalled that in 2012, Prof. Akpan then an Associate professor was attacked by gunmen in the company of another Prof. who escaped while he was shot in the hand then, but the security guard of the relaxation spot was not so lucky as he lost his life.
After that attack, findings also showed that the University Don also suffered partial stroke which he was recovering from at the time of his demise.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Irene Ugbo disclosed that four suspects, including the one arrested on Sunday, are now in custody.
“We won’t leave any stone unturned in this matter, we shall surely get to the root, it is a case of homicide and we have experts who are looking into the matter critically.
“We can assure the public that we will unravel the mystery behind his death I can confidently tell you that,” she said.
