The Department of State Services has invited Femi Fani-Kayode, the Special Projects and New Media Director of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), for alleging that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar connived with some top military officers to disrupt the forthcoming elections.
The former Minister of Aviation had in a tweet last week also alleged that the motive of the former Vice President and his party was to cause a coup in the country.
However, Fani-Kayode, on Monday announced that he was invited by the secret and vowed to honour the invitation.
He also added that his summon was not influenced by the presidential candidate of the PDP.
Reacting to the invitation, Atiku, through his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, commended the secret police for inviting the former Minister of Aviation for questioning.

He said, “Ordinarily, we wouldn’t have bothered responding to Fani-Kayode who has over the years built a reputation of being an inveterate liar so much so that he was even publicly blacklisted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists after his disgraceful outburst at a journalist.
“However, allegations and insinuations of a coup should not be taken lightly given the fact that it is treason, an offence that carries the death penalty.
“While commending the Nigerian military for effectively rubbishing Fani-Kayode’s barefaced lie, we call on security agencies to invite him to shed more light on the allegations.”
Shaibu noted that Atiku, even during the military regime, “never attempted to topple the government despite having the resources.
“Fani-Kayode must also be made to reveal the identities of the so-called army generals who are plotting to overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
The aide urged the secret service and Nigerian authorities to ensure that the military is not brought into partisan politics.
