The village head of Maigari village in Rimin Gado Local Government of Kano State, Alhaji Dahiru Abba, was on Sunday shot dead by gunmen.
N Village IGERIACRIME gathered that some heavily armed men attacked the village, riding on motorcycles when they carried out the attack.
It was learnt that the hoodlums stormed his residence in the early hours of Sunday where they inflicted various degrees of injuries on his body and later shot him dead.
According to a family source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the gunmen did not take anything from the victim’s house.

The source added that the village head is also the father of the present Chairman of Rimin Gado Council, Barrister Munir Dahiru Maigari.
Also, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of Judiciary in Kano State, Alhaji Sanusi Abbas, who is also a family member to the deceased, confirmed the incident in Kano on Sunday.
He further noted that the funeral prayer will be conducted at his residence by 10am in Maigari Village of Rimin Gado LGA.
“May his soul rest in Aljannatur Firdous,” he said.
As of the time of filing this reports, efforts to reach the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, were not successful.
