Eight suspects are currently being investigated for aiding an attack on a Police patrol vehicle and a suspect’s escape in Katsina metropolis.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the suspects were arrested on Tuesday by the Katsina State Police Command.
Confirming the arrest, the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Sadiq Abubakar said: “The incident occurred on Tuesday when a commercial motorcycle rider fell to the ground while attempting to escape arrest by men of the Command’s State Motor Traffic Division (MTD) discharging their lawful duty.
While the suspected motorcyclist was able to escape, his motorcycle was crushed by a passing truck in the process. Consequently, some unscrupulous elements who aided his escape took advantage of the situation and attacked the Police patrol vehicle. Sadiq said.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Area Commander Metro mobilised his team and moved to the scene. They rescued the situation and succeeded in arresting eight (8) suspects for aiding the escape of the suspect and the attack on the Police patrol vehicle. The investigation is in progress, Sadiq said.”
In light of the foregoing, the Police Commissioner, Katsina State Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, called on the good people of the State to continue to be law-abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands.
In a related development, the Delta State Police Command has recorded a breakthrough in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
Nigeriacrime.com also learned that the command also recovered one ak-47 rifle loaded with five magazines, one assault rifle loaded with two magazines, two pump action guns, double barrel guns, two hundred and twenty rounds of live ammunition, one hundred and ten rounds of cartridges.

Delta State Command, “Sequel to the numerous complaints from residents of Ekpan and environs on the antecedents of kidnappers and armed robbers in Ekpan, Warri, and environs, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Wale Abass ordered the deployment of CSP Aliyu Shaba to Ekpan Police Station with a clear mandate to sanitise the area and ensure that Ekpan and environs are safe for all resident.
Consequently, the newly posted DPO, acting on credible intelligence gathered on the hideout of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and the location of their weapons, on the 3rd of July 2023 at about 4 PM, led a combined team of policemen attached to Ekpan division and military personnel of 3 battalion Nigerian army Ekpan, on a sting operation and raided their hideout at Agadaga avenue off Jakpa road, Ekpan, where a thorough search was conducted at an uncompleted building during which one (1) AK-47 Rifle with five (5) magazines loaded with One Hundred and Sixty-one (161) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one (1) Assault Rifle with two magazines loaded with fifty-nine (59) rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, two English pump-action guns, One Hundred and Ten (110) rounds of live cartridges, one (1) Double Barrel gun, one Single Barrel gun, one toy gun, cutlasses, and a bunch of charms wrapped in a cap was retrieved. A frantic effort to arrest the criminal syndicate is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass solicits maximum cooperation from members of the public, particularly Deltans, especially in the area of making available any useful information that will aid in crime fighting to the Police.
