Tragedy struck in Malam-Madori Local Government, Jigawa State as two sons of a police officer were killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
It was learnt that the gunmen also injured the wife of the policeman, Maman Biyu during the attack.
Narrating the story, a resident said the incident happened on Wednesday at about 2:00 am.
The resident said the assaulters were about 20 in number.
“They entered into the house of former chairman of Jigawa state consumer protection Faroq Abdullahi and robbed him the sum of over N1million
“They then moved to the house of one police officer who is working at Zamfara police command and shot his family
“Two of his sons died on the spot and his wife sustained a degree of injuries at her arm and chest and was rushed to the hospital.”
The incident was confirmed by the police spokesman of the Jigawa state command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam.
The report of the attack on Biyu’s house was received in a police station in the area according to the spokesperson.
He explained that the incident happened on Wednesday after the hoodlums invaded the policeman’s house and killed two of his sons; a 15-year-old Richard Amos and 15-year-old Cyril Amos and injured their mother.
He said the corpses and victim were taken to Hadejia general hospital and confirmed dead by medical doctor.

Police spokesman said effort to trace the culprits is on top gear.
Meanwhile, a Minna Chief Magistrate Court 1, in Niger State, presided by Adamu Abubakar has sentenced an imposter, Idris Baba Hassan, to two years imprisonment over alleged impersonation of the secretary of the National Assembly and State Assembly Elections Tribunal, NAEPT, Minna, Usman Mohammed. Jankoli.
It was gathered Hassan of the Kusfa area of Suleja LG, fraudulently demanded gratification from litigants who have cases before the tribunal.
He was arrested by the operatives of the DSS attached to the Tribunal and was charged to the Magistrate Court1 on Thursday by Abdulmalik Sani
It was learnt that the imposter used his phone number 08181810017 to call and demand gratification from unsuspecting petitioners.
The suspect was arraigned on one count charge of impersonation and contravening section 132 of the penal code law of Niger State.
The prosecutor told the court that the defendant was arrested in July, 2023 while parading himself as the secretary to the Niger State NAEPT in Minna, and demanding gratification from litigants.
The defendant, pleaded guilty when the charge was read by the presiding Chief Magistrate, Abubakar, who sentenced him to two years imprisonment or an option of N100,000.
