Three suspected vandals have been arrested by men of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Police Command in Lagos State.
It was gathered that the vandals before their arrest operated in the Tom Jones area of the state, where the police nabbed them and recovered a minibus, two carts and bridge railings
Confirming this on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement said that the suspects were arrested at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday during RRS operatives’ routine patrol of the area.
“The suspects fled and abandoned a Suzuki minibus popularly called ‘Korope’ with registration number BDG 315 YA upon sighting the police.
“Also left behind by the suspected vandals were two carts, bars of aluminium railings suspected to have been cut from the Third Mainland Bridge, a hammer and a hand saw,” he said.
According to the image maker, the arrests come on the heels of other recent and similar ones made by the CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS operatives.

He said that the suspects had been charged to court.
In another development, an accident along the Kaduna-Abuja road on Tuesday claimed five lives, with six other passengers sustaining serious injuries.
According to Mallam Ahmed Jibril, an eyewitness who was also a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in a head-on collision, the accident was a result of overspeeding.
Jibril, who sustained a minor injury, said they were travelling in an 18-seater bus from Abuja to Kano when their vehicle collided with a Toyota pick-up van with a lone driver from Kaduna, close to Kateri.
Jibril prayed for the souls of the departed and urged the government to ensure that stringent punishment is meted on any driver charged with overspeeding.
