In another news, a joint operation by security operatives foiled an attempt by hoodlums to kidnap residents of Tijjani Malumfashi Housing Estate, in Katsina State, over the weekend.

According to reports, approximately 50 kidnappers descended upon the area at around 11:00 pm on Saturday, armed with dangerous weapons and firing sporadic shots to create fear among the residents.

Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the spokesperson for Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday.

The statement detailed how the kidnappers strategically positioned themselves throughout the neighborhood, initiating house-to-house operations before the arrival of security forces.

However, according to the statement, before help could come, at least six individuals were forcibly removed from their homes, bound, and blindfolded.

The statement added that the timely arrival of security forces saved the situation.

Among those rescued from the clutches of the criminals includes a Judge, identified as Alkali Saidu.

The governor praised the Malumfashi Divisional Police Officer, Bello Umar, troops of the Nigerian Army and local vigilantes for their heroic efforts in repelling the attack.

He emphasized the importance of security agencies conducting joint operations to combat insurgents, bandits, and other criminal elements plaguing the nation.

Radda noted that the successful response operation, carried out collaboratively by the Malumfashi police team, military units, and local vigilantes in Katsina, serves as a shining example of bravery that other security personnel across the state should aspire to replicate.
