8 killed in fatal motor accident along Kano – Zaria road

Eight people lost their lives in a fatal motor accident along Kano – Zaria road at the weekend.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the incident which occurred in Kura local government area of Kano State claimed the lives of eight out of 14 passengers involved in the accident.

Confirming the accident, the spokesperson, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Labaran said the incident which occurred in Kura local government area of Kano State claimed the lives of eight out of 14 passengers involved in the accident.

Labaran said six other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the Kura General Hospital for treatment.

He said the incident involved three vehicles, a mini bus (Pare Galaxy) with registration number NSR 617 SP, Opel with registration number BKA 115 RB and a boxer motorcycle with registration number NSR 179 QU.

The accident was alleged to have been caused as a result of overspeeding.

According to him, “The incident happened on Saturday around 8:10 am along Kano – Zaria road.

“It involves three vehicles, a mini bus (Pare Galaxy) with registration number NSR 617 SP, an Opel with registration number BKA 115 RB and a boxer motorcycle with registration number NSR 179 QU.

“A total of 14 passengers were involved in the accident out of which eight died and six others sustaining injuries.

“The corpses were evacuated to the morgue of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital while the injured were taken to the Kura General Hospital.

“The Sector Commander, Ibrahim Abdullahi has deployed the crash investigative team to ascertain the cause of the accident,” he said.

The spokesperson, Labaran also confirmed a lone accident by another vehicle that lost its brake in the same area but said no life was lost.
