A vehicle conveying three suspected criminals have been intercepted by men of the Adamawa State Police Command attached to Yolde Pate Divisional Headquarters.
The operation of the suspects was thwarted in Yola metropolis, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Suleiman Nguroje, said in a statement Monday.
Nguroje revealed that the operatives, while on confidence building patrol along Yola-Yadim Road, intercepted the vehicle with registration number GME 2354 AE.
Three people were inside the vehicle according to the police spokesperson.
“The driver, upon citing security check, drove recklessly to beat the security check but was chased to a corner. They immediately abandoned the vehicle and escaped arrest,” the police explained.
“The recovered vehicle was searched immediately, leading to the recovery of two daggers, a chain, a padlock and some charms suspected to be used in perpetrating kidnapping activities,” the police stated further.

The statement added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola assured that criminals will never escape arrest in the state.
The CP urged members of the public to give timely information that could help apprehend the fleeing criminals.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police Command on Monday said it has recovered seven corpses from the recent boat mishap in the state.
The Police Command, which disclosed this in a statement, however said the number of passengers in the boat could not be ascertained.
Residents of the state were on Saturday thrown into mourning following the boat accident which occured in Mayoranewo village of Ardo-Kola local government council.
The boat which took off from Mayoranewo Market in Ardo-Kola council, was said to have been heading to Karim-Lamido, a nearby council, when it capsized on reaching Binnari village waterway.
“Currently, seven corpses have been recovered,” the statement by the Taraba State Police Command said.
