Nigerian Policemen Attempt To Extort Foreign Biker

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, has called on the Oyo State Police Command to take necessary action on officers recorded along Moniya Road in the state.

The policemen were sighted in the video trying to extort a female biker who was on a tour of Nigeria from the Netherlands.

NIGERIACRIME observed that the policemen flagged down the foreign biker and questioned her on where she was from and where she was heading.

The female biker replied that she was from the Netherlands and on her way to Abuja, surprising the two officers.

In the 1:26-minute video, the officers asked the Dutch to offer them money or whatever she had in her possession.

Interacting with the biker in pidgin, the officers said: “Wetin you bring come? Wetin you won give me. O yah give me something nah.”

The tourist appeared not to comprehend the officers’ message until they clearly said, “Give me money, money,” to which she asked, “Why?”

Reacting to the video shared by an X user, #Oyoaffairs, the Force PRO, Adejobi called on the Oyo State police command to look into the incident.

“Now that is along Moniya in Oyo, #OyoPoliceNG should take necessary steps on that. I have notified the PPRO Oyo of this. They need to be worked upon,” Adejobi reacted.

In an unrelated development, the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, says it has again secured the release of two females among the abducted prospective corps members.

Recall that the prospective corps members were kidnapped in Zamfara on their way to the orientation camp in Sokoto.

The Nigerian Army had earlier secured the release of a male and a female victim, leaving four of the prospective corps members in the kidnappers’ den.

However, the NYSC announced on Thursday that it has secured the freedom of two more victims.

The Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General YD Ahmed further gave the reassurance that the remaining victims would be released with the efforts of the security agencies.

He said the scheme would explore every available strategy that would ensure that they were freed from their captives unhurt and reunited with their families.

The NYSC, in a statement signed by Eddie Megwa, its Director of Press, hailed the Nigerian Army for its concerted efforts towards securing the release of the abductees.
