Akwa Ibom state has killed three armed robbery suspects and arrested one at Ikot Inyang, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that three suspects were gunned down among a gang of 10 while robbing at N.D.D.C Hall/National Museum, Ikot Inyang and environs.
Spokesman, Akwa Ibom Police Command, CSP Odiko Macdon stated that “March 20, a police team of Ikot Ekpene Division, responded to a distress call, engaged armed robbers numbering about ten who were robbing at N.D.D.C Hall/National Museum, Ikot Inyang Village and environs.
“In the ensuing gun duel, three of the suspects were neutralised while one was arrested and others escaped with bullet wounds. A locally made pistol, one expanded and one live cartridges were recovered.
“Also recovered were vandalized wire cables among other items. The gang is said to be responsible for robberies around Ikot Ekpene and its environs.
“The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom Command, CP Waheed Ayilara, has met with Tactical Commanders and reviewed deployment of tactical assets for optimal security service delivery for Akwa Ibom.
“The CP has handed down a standing order to out and bring to justice those who think they can attempt to truncate the peace and tranquility of the State through kidnapping, armed robbery and other heinous crimes.”
