N 8m, ammunition, recovered as police arrest kidnapper in Bauchi

The sum of 8.4 million has been recovered from a twenty-year-old kidnap kingpin, Abubakar Isah who is currently being investigated by operatives attached to the Bauchi State Police Command.

Isah is being investigated for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping and having prohibited firearms and ammunition in Tashan Daudu Soro community, Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state.

NigeriaCrime.com learned that on October 16th 2022 at about 5:30 AM when Isah was arrested Eight million four hundred- and sixty-six-thousand-naira (N8,466,000.00) cash, one SMG rifle with ninety-two live ammunition, one empty magazine SMG OFN rifle, one 7.62mm calibre of live ammunitions was recovered from him.

Speaking on his arrest, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Mamman Sanda said the Command arrested Abubakar Isah of Tashan Daudu Soro via Ganjuwa LGA at Gobirawa axis for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping and having prohibited firearms and ammunition.”

Some of the exhibits recovered in his possession are: eight million four hundred- and sixty-six-thousand-naira (N8,466,000.00) cash, one SMG rifle with ninety-two live ammunition, one empty magazine SMG OFN rifle, one 7.62mm calibre of live ammunitions. Eight (8) different models of phones, one MP3, one Honda Motorcycle and one cutlass.

Other mopped-up arms recovered include; one fabricated AK-47 riffle with an empty magazine. Two Dane-gun. One pump action JOJEFF MAGNUM, one single barrel gun and one revolver (fabricated),” he said.

In a related development, the Commissioner of Police also said that his men raided another kidnapper’s hideout where two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun battle on 7th September 2022 at about 4 pm.

According to him, a Patrol team attached to Maina-Maji Divisional Police Headquarters in collaboration with vigilante group acted on credible intelligence and raided a suspected kidnappers’ den.”

“On arrival, the kidnappers opened fire on the Police operatives. While returning fire, two of the kidnappers were neutralised at the spot, while one was arrested namely; Hussaini Salisu and Muhammadu Lawali (deceased) Dangi Surname unknown yet (deceased) all of Gobiya, Mundu villages of Bogoro and Dangi LGAs Plateau State.”

Meanwhile, the following exhibits were recovered from their den; One (1) AK-47 rifle and Twenty-nine (29) live ammunition,” he added.
