A security guard of Queens College in Ibadan, Oyo State capital has been killed by suspected armed robbers who invaded the school premises on Saturday, November 26, 2022.
According to reports available to NIGERIACRIME, the heavily armed robbers attacked the school compound at about 1 am in the early hours on Saturday at the college’s premise in Apata, Ido Local Government Area of the state.
The security guards were said to have attempted to repel the attackers but were overpowered by the sophisticated weapons they wielded as one of the school guards was shot dead by the bandits.
According to one of the eyewitnesses, who did not want his name in print, the armed robbers engaged in sporadic shooting to scare the residents and the neighborhood guards.

Reacting to the incident, the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, disclosed that the robbery attack did not take place in the school premises but in a compound next to it.
According to him, the robbery attack was carried out in the compound next to Queen’s College and a security guard who was bold to confront them was shot dead.
He said the security guard on noticing the presence of the robbers who were armed to the teeth engaged them in a gun battle and was eventually over powered.
He said the investigation has begun on the matter and promised to bring the perpetrators to book.
