A 29-year-old classroom teacher, identified as Laminu Saminu, of Bakin Kasuwa Quarters, Mani LGA of Katsina state is currently being investigated for the murder of an official of the Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corps.
Laminu Saminu was arrested on 1st December 2022 at about 1 pm for killing his final year coursemate at Federal College of Education, (FCE), Katsina ASC II Sanusi Bawa.
NigeriaCrime.com learned that on 26th November 2022 at about 2 pm, Saminu lured the Sanusi Bawa into an unoccupied building in Mani LGA, deceived him to park his motor vehicle Golf Saloon, green in colour with registration number AA 266 KUF inside a garage in the house and served him with a poisoned Fura da Nono meal, which made Sanusi Bawa to became unconscious.
Later Saminu got heavy firewood and hit the victim severally on the head until he died and threw the corpse inside a Well in the house and covered it with sand. All with the intent of robbing the deceased of his motor vehicle.
However, trouble, as gathered, began during the investigation, when the suspect, Saminu made a mistake and called the wife of the deceased through a phone call that he needs the Bawa’s vehicle’s documents. He was subsequently traced and arrested

Confirming the incident, SP Gambo Isah, Police Public Relations Officer Katsina State Command said during police interrogation, Saminu confessed to the commission of the offence.”
“A pack of Rat Poison, a heavy Firewood and a motor vehicle, a Volkswagen, Golf, Saloon, green in colour, with registration number AA 266 KUF, belonging to the deceased was found in the possession of the suspect. The investigation is ongoing,” he added
