A man, identified as Hussaini, has been abducted alongside his wife and their four-month-old baby at the residence of Dr Sa’ad Usman, the late emir of Jere in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This was confirmed by the secretary to the Jere Emirate Council, Malam Aliyu Zubair, who said the gunmen abducted six people in total.
According to the secretary, the residence was stormed by the heavily armed men around 10;12 pm on Sunday to kidnap their victims before moving to the next residence to kidnap five others.
It was, however, reported that the nursing mother escaped with her baby when the gunmen moved to the next house for further operation.

Zubair told newsmen that, “And before the police arrived, the bandits had escaped. It was our vigilantes who tried to engage them, but they were overpowered because the guns the bandits were carrying were more sophisticated than those of the vigilantes,” he said.
One of the residents in the community who also commented on the issue said, “Actually, one of the victims was hit by a stray bullet when the bandits shot into the window of the house of Baba Na’ibi, while the second was injured by the shattered window pane of the house,” he said.
The Kaduna State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement incident as at the time of filing this report.
