The suspect connected to the the murder case of a former staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kehinde Fatinoye, has reportedly fled from the custody of the Ogun State Police Command.
The only suspect apprehended pertaining to the case, Lekan Adekanbi, was the driver of the murdered Fatinoye until his gruesome death.
Following the death of his boss, Adekanbi, the prime suspect, was reported to the police by Fatinoye’s wife and their only son.
To aid the speed of their findings, the suspect was detained in their custody by operatives of Ibara police divisional headquarters
According to the information available to NIGERIACRIME, two policemen from the division were said to have taken the suspect to a hospital after he complained of fever.

“At the hospital, Lekan was said to have pretended like he wanted to urinate and he escaped,” a source said.
According to the source, the policemen did not handcuff the suspect, from the time he was arrested up until the time he was in the hospital.
According to sources, the suspect fled when he discovered that the domestic staff of the Fatinoyes, who was taken away by the assassins alongside their son, did not die.
He had become restless the moment he set his eyes on the domestic staff, it was learnt.
Following the incident, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ibara, Abeokuta, CSP Bernard Ediagbonya, has been removed for alleged negligence.
The DPO was removed without any posting as the command directed the most senior officer in the division to take over.
Also, the officers, under whose care the suspect escaped, are facing sanctions for failing to prevent Adekanbi from running away.
