The statement reads partly, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, arrested one Salman Umar Hudu, a 38-year-old indigene of Kano, at a hotel in Abuja, for falsely representing himself as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, and other officers of the Commission, and obtaining N100,000.00 from a person he convinced that he can ‘handle’ any matter with the EFCC.”

Meanwhile, commuters heading towards  the Lagos Island and Apapa areas of Lagos State were on Wednesday morning stranded following an accident involving a container-laden truck and a tanker on the Alaka bridge inward Eko bridge.

Both trucks completely occupied the two-lane road, creating a gridlock which forced officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency at the scene to divert traffic.

“All Eko Bridge bound traffic are being detoured via Costain and on to the Eko Bridge,” LASTMA said on its Twitter handle.

“Men strategically located even as safety measures are being out in place and rescue teams en route to recover and evacuate.”
