The police in the Federal Capital Territory has charged a 34-year-old bricklayer, identified as Surajo Hamza, before an Area Court in Karu area of Abuja for having sex with a married woman, Gloria Joseph.
NIGERIACRIME learnt that the defendant trespassed into the shop of Gloria, the wife of one Pius Gwaza of Kuruduma, Asokoro, Abuja, to commit adultery.
Hamza was arraigned for criminal trespass, adultery and causing harm.
According to the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Edwin Ochayi, the defendant was caught by Gloria’s husband, who later called the attention of the police to the issue.
Ochayi, told the court that Hamza, instead of being remorseful, engaged Gwaza in a fight and in the process used a sharp object to inflict injury on him and the wife.

The suspect was said to have confessed to committing the crime during police investigation.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provision of Sections 97, 242 and 387 of the Penal Code.
However, Hamza pleaded not guilty when the alleged offences were read to him.
The trial judge, Mr Umar Mayana, deferred granting the defendant bail and adjourned the case until April 4 for hearing.
Mayana ordered that the defendant be remanded in Keffi Correctional Centre, pending the completion of police’s investigation.
