The Police Command in Kwara State has disclosed that three persons escaped being lynched over alleged missing private organs in Ilorin, the state capital on Thursday.
Disclosing this, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said the incident happened at Tanke/Oke-Odo area of Ilorin metropolis.
He said, “Three of such incidents were recorded in the Okeogun area of Tanke between Monday, July 17, 2023 and Thursday.
“In the three alarms raised, the three boys were taken to the hospital, tested, and were all found to have their private organs in perfect condition.
“Meanwhile, the three accused persons were almost lynched if not for the quick intervention of policemen and people around them.
“The mischievous suspects that raised the false alarm have already been charged in court.”
On her part, the state Commissioner of Police, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, warned evil members of the public to stop such fake private organ theft alarms or risk arrest and prosecution.
Furthermore, CP Adelesi urged members of the public to be wary of the antics of the fake alarmists and report any such incident to the police, while reminding the people that jungle justice is punishable by law, “hence, the good people of Kwara State are advised to avoid involving in it.”

In another news, a member of the House of Representatives, Marcus Onobun, has escaped death in an accident on his way to Abuja.
The state Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Aziegbemi, who confirmed this on Friday, said Onobun who was the immediate past Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, sustained injuries during the accident and had been hospitalised at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
Aziegbemi said Onobun was not in a critical condition as he spoke to him when he visited him in the hospital on Thursday.
“I can confirm to you that he had an accident on Wednesday and he had fractures in some parts of his body but he is responding and not in critical condition.
“When I visited him on Thursday, we spoke and he even told me how the incident happened. I wish him a quick recovery so that he can get back on his feet and contribute to the development of his people as he has always done,” Aziegbemi added.
Onobun, representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency in the HoR, reportedly sustained multiple fractures when a vehicle he was travelling in fell into a ditch along Ekpoma-Abuja Highway.
The wreckage of the lawmaker’s vehicle, a dark-brown Mitsubishi SUV, showed a detached airbag system, a shattered windshield, and a disfigured roof.
