Alleged Murder, Organ Harvesting: Rivers Police Arrest Three

Three suspected murderers and organ traffickers have been arrested by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command.

This is in connection with the alleged organ harvesting of a man identified as Progress in Ogbaraye community, Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state.

According to a source within the community, who identified himself simply as Otuks, the incident happened when the victim, Progress, an okada rider was conveying some goods from Abua Central (Abua LGA).

The victim hails from the Aminigboko community, the source said.

In addition, Otuks disclosed that a yet-to-be identified man, who they suspect to be a ritualist, contracted a group of five young men to bring some human parts with a mouth-watering offer in return.

He stated, “They are drug boys. So, a suspected ritualist went to arrange with them to get a tongue and a heart. And from what I heard, the man promised them over N2m.

“So, the man they killed was an okada rider. He was rushing to drop somebody’s luggage from Central Abua to Amingboko around 11pm.”

Otuks added, “This incident happened along the Emebu/Obrean boundary. So, they killed the man, and cut off some of his parts. It happened on Friday night. After committing the crime, they fled, but three of the suspects were later arrested.

When contacted on Sunday evening, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects.

She stated, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The three suspects who perpetrated that act have been arrested. They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.”

This came barely two weeks after three persons, including two pastors, were arrested by a vigilante group codename OSPAC in Port Harcourt over the death of a 24-year-old physically challenged man.

They were apprehended for allegedly killing the physically challenged person and harvesting his organ.
