Some gunmen have reportedly kidnapped kidnapped a pastor and five other people when they invaded the Goni-Gora community in Chikun Local government area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, a resident in the community, Mr Shuaibu Ekpa, disclosed.
The resident said he was woken up by gunshots around 2:00 am in the morning.
Ekpa said he quickly climbed the ceiling of his house until the shooting subsided.
He said as the day brightened around 7:00 am and after headcounts within the community, it was found that a pastor of the Pentecostal Church and five other tenants within the community had been kidnapped.
According to the wife of one of the kidnapped victims, the abductors are yet to contact family members since the operation was carried out.

All attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige did not yield positive results as the police spokesperson did not pick his calls or respond to messages as of press time.
In another news, for the first time, the Department of State Service (DSS) has created social media handles to enhance engagement with citizens and apprehension of criminal elements.
DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said hitherto, the service did not own or operate any social media handle.
According to Afunanya, the handles are Twitter: @OfficialDSSNG, Facebook: OfficialDSSNG, Instagram: @OfficialDSSNG.
Similarly, the PRO’s Twitter handle is @DrAfunanya_PNA.
“Its decision to operate them with effect from 6th March, 2023 is to enhance public and stakeholder engagements. The public should be guided and note that any such handles before now were/are fake, please,” Afunanya said.
