Cannabis, 7,500 live cartridges worth N600m intercepted in Kebbi

Two trucks of cannabis and 7,500 boxes of live cartridges worth six hundred million naira have been intercepted by the Kebbi State Police Command.

Nigeria crime.com learned that three suspects were arrested alongside the illicit consignments along Tsamiyya border under Bagudo local government area of Kebbi state.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson Kebbi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar said that at least 3 suspects were arrested in connection with the illicit consignments along Tsamiyya border under Bagudo local government area of Kebbi state by a team of border patrol policemen.

According to him, the illicit consignments were intended for Lagos, the suspects in the first truck are Emmanuel Chukwuma from Bende local government Abia State, Kanta Bisa male from Asaka local government Republic of Ghana and Shola Adeyemi Olufon local government Ondo State were on transit from Ghana through Benin and Tsamiyya town in Kebbi with intention to continue the journey to Lagos as the final place.

SP Nafiu added that the suspect beat at least 9 checkpoints from Ghana and Benin Republic before they were arrested and the lethal items recovered by the police.

The suspect mister Chukwuma said that he was contracted by someone in Ghana and paid him N400,000, while the second driver Abdulrazak Agboola male from Yana Ajiya Street in Ibadan said that he was paid two hundred thousand naira to drive the truck containing 7,500 boxes of live cartridges to Lagos Nigeria.

While commending the courage of the officers who stood their ground to thoroughly check the truck, he said the police would remain resolute in their fight against any form of crimes in Kebbi state and Nigeria.
