Confusion As Thieves Steal Monarch’s Crown, Staff Of Office In Ogun

An abominable act has been committed in Ogunmakin town in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State as suspected thieves reportedly raided the palace of the monarch, late Oba James Sodiya.

NIGERIACRIME learnt that the thieves, while raiding the Olu of Ogunmakin palace, who died barely two months ago, carted away his staff of office and crown.

The incident was confirmed by the Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, on Saturday.

Odutola noted that the incident happened on Thursday, but disclosed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime.

Describing the incident as an abominable act, Odutola stated that “the police had recovered the crown but are still searching for the staff of office.

“The suspects, Oke Oladipupo,Amusa Kazeem and Johnson Oluwole, were alleged to have entered the house where the property of the late king was kept at about 2:00 hours on October 12, 2023. An act described as an abomination.

“The staff of the office has not been recovered, but intensive action is ongoing to recover it. The suspects have been arrested and are undergoing interrogation.”

Meanwhile, an unidentified member of the Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, was allegedly murdered on Friday by a group of mob at Adeyi Junction in One Man Village, Nasarawa State.

Eyewitnesses said the man was evangelising in the area when he was accused of stealing someone’s manhood.

The eyewitness said the man was already lynched before the arrival of security men, while his killers fled the scene.

“A living faith church member was killed yesterday while preaching at One Man Village by Adeyi Junction, Nasarawa State. He was accused of collecting someone’s manhood.

“Pray they don’t accuse you or any of your people wrongly.”

When contacted, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said he has not been briefed on the incident.

He simply said, “I am not aware, sir.”
