A 19-year-old boy identified simply as Victory has been killed by suspected cultists in an unending supremacy cult war in Orhuwhorun community of Udu Council Area of Delta State.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the incident is causing serious panic with residents fleeing from the community.
According to reports, about four persons have been killed so far since the supremacy battle between “the Commissioners” and their rival cult group began.
The latest victim according to sources was abducted near an eatery near Usiefrun.
A family relative of the deceased said late Victory’s decomposing corpse was found in the forest after three days and was buried following police advice after the mortuary rejected the body.
Another source said one suspect ‘Old School’ with a link to powerful Community leaders has been arrested by police after the killing.
The arrested suspect, our source said has been taken to Ekpan police Station following mounting pressure by some powerful forces to have him released.
The relative who was present during retrieving of the corpse said that the cult group have a training ground inside the Orhuwhorun forest where they played football and that it was there Victory’s decomposing corpse was found.
The unabating killings are making people flee to neighbouring communities for safety with the cultists having powerful backing from suspected top members of the community.
