Some yet-to-be- identified gunmen have reportedly killed an official of the Independent Electoral Commission and injured some corps members who worked as ad hoc staff of the commission in Delta State.
It was gathered that the INEC staff was shot dead, while the corpers sustained different degrees of injuries in the Ukwani Local Government Area of the state.
The incident was made known to journalists by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Delta State, Mr. Monday Tom, on Monday.
He said, “There were incidents of attack in Ukwani Local Government Area where one of us died on their way coming after the election.
“The gunmen opened fire at their bus and unfortunately killed one INEC official and injured the corps members.

“The corpers are now receiving treatment but we are planning on how to move the corps members who were injured to a hospital in Asaba.”
NIGERIACRIME learnt that 14 local governments have so far been officially announced by the INEC with LP winning in 10 while the PDP won in four.
Meanwhile, some parts of Lagos State have reportedly experienced attacks following the announcement that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu lost the state to his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi.
According to reports obtained by NIGERIACRIME, some residents of the state, mostly from the eastern part of the country have been attacked by thugs believed to be loyal to former NURTW boss, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, an ally of Tinubu.
However, the APC flagbearer has called for calm within the state, saying that it is democratic to “win some and lose some”.
