Five suspected kidnappers arrested in Edo state

Five suspected kidnappers have been arrested by operatives attached to Ekiadolor Division, Edo State Police Command.

The suspects identified as Christopher Aiyegbeni, age 29, Matthew Osayande, age 32, Uyi Destiny, age 27, Bankole Faz, age 35, and Ayemen Okojie, age 32 were nabbed on the 16th of December, 2022.

NigeriaCrime.com learned that a double barrel gun, a single barrel gun, and two pump-action guns with its cartridges were recovered from the kidnappers.

The arrest of the suspects was after a complaint made by one of the community persons, that at about 6 am on the 16th of December, 2022 some group of five men suspected to be kidnappers, heavily armed with guns and other dangerous weapons invaded Ogoja Camp.

The suspects who stormed Ogoja Camp also known as, Ford Oga Camp to kidnap one of the heads of the camp, shot sporadically on air, but as luck ran against them, they were arrested by Police with collaborated efforts of the community and the Vigilantes from the Kamafua- ii community in Uhunmwode local government area, Edo State.

Confirming the suspect’s arrest, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Command, said the Edo State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner Of Police, CP Mohammed A. Dankwara, wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of five male suspected kidnappers on Friday, 16th of December, 2022, by the Operatives of Ekiadolor Divisional Police Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State.

Meanwhile, CP Dankwara, while commending the bravery of the operatives in arresting the kidnappers, reiterates the command’s readiness to respond to distress calls and bring the situation to a halt.

He warns criminals to leave the state or face the stiffness of the law when caught. He adjoins the good citizens of Edo State to be at the Vanguard of the Command’s campaign against criminals and their activities in the state, especially during this Yuletide Season, and encourage them to imbibe the attitude of see something and say something to expose and bring the activities of criminals to an end.
