Four arrested over former MILAD’s wife, kidnap

Four suspects have been arrested by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command over the kidnap of the wife of a former military administrator of Osun and Bauchi States, Chief Mrs Jumoke Bamigboye.

The suspects arrested are Abubakar Ibrahim, Mamud Ibrahim, Muhamed Kiri and a female suspect, Abibatu Jimoh

NigeriaCrime.com gathered that Mrs Bamigboye was abducted from her farm located at Ayegun Village via Eyenkorin, Ilorin last Saturday.

Confirming the kidnap, the Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Police Command Ajayi Okasanmi, said that the suspects in the police net include Abubakar Ibrahim, Mamud Ibrahim Muhamed Kiri and one female suspect, Abibatu Jimoh.

Okasanmi disclosed that the female suspect, Abibat Jimoh supplied Gari and other food items with which the victim was fed while in their captivity.

Okasanmi stated that Mrs Bamigboye was abducted from her farm located at Ayegun Village via Eyenkorin, Ilorin last Saturday.

“On receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, Cp Paul Odama immediately dispatched a team of Anti-Kidnapping unit assisted by Vigilantes and local hunters to the scene to comb and search for possible rescue of the victim.

“The victim was geo-located to have been hidden in the forest between Eyenkorin/Afon/ Ogbomoso axis, this discovery emboldened the police teams to intensify their search, rescue and arrest operation in the located area which consequently culminated in the release of the victim.

“The efforts of the police and vigilante teams led to the recovery of the victim’s vehicle, and arrest of three suspects.”

Okasanmi further stated that an investigation into the matter is still ongoing as efforts are still in top gear to arrest the remaining kidnappers.

“The victim has now been reunited with her family after undergoing medical examination to ascertain the condition of her health.

“The CP wishes to empathize with the victim and her family over the unpleasant and traumatic experience during her period with the abductors.”
