Four people have been reportedly killed over a communal land dispute between two communities in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
NIGERIACRIME gathered that the Police Command in the state arrested 12 connected to the crisis.
In a statement made available to newsmen in the state on Sunday, the Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the clash between the Oyofo and Awha communities took place on Friday at about 10 am.
“The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Ammani, has ordered the deployment of police operatives to Oyofo and Awha communities.
“The deployment is to maintain the normalcy already restored in the area after the clash.
“The clash led to the murder of four males and the burning of one tricycle and five motorcycles,” he said.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state noted that a preliminary investigation showed that the clash was due to a land ownership tussle between the communities.

Meanwhile, the Police Command in Lagos State, on Friday, confirmed the death of an Inspector attached to the Iponri Division, from injury sustained during an attack by persons suspected to be okada riders.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
Hundeyin said that the Inspector, whose name was not mentioned, was one of the policemen attacked at Ijora Olopa by the assailants on Thursday.
He said that the officer died at an undisclosed hospital on Friday, where he was rushed to on Thursday after the attack.
The image maker said that the policemen went to the area to implement the Okada restriction law of the Lagos State government when they were attacked.
He said no arrest had been made yet as at press time on Friday evening.
Hundeyin said that they were on the trail of those that carried out the attack.
