There was tension as a group of armed men kidnapped the chaplain of RCM Parish in the Alok Catholic Diocese of Ogoja in Cross River State, Reverend Father Peter Ochang.
Ochang was abducted in Nasarawa State alongside several members of his church who are mostly members of St Jude Society.
The victims were said to have been ambushed by the arms-wielding gang on their way to Abuja for an important church event on Thursday.

The news of their kidnap was broken during morning Mass today by Rev Fr Dr Fidelis Kajibia, the Administrator of St Benedict’s Cathedral, Igoli Ogoja.
He said it was not yet certain how many members of St Jude Society were traveling with him.
The Chairman of Diocesan Education Board, Catholic Diocese of Ogoja, Peter Nandi Bette also confirmed it on his Facebook page early Friday morning.
Police authorities from both States are yet to make any statement towards the abduction.
