There was tension in Akenawe -Tswarev community, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State as gunmen suspected to be kidnappers attacked a church in the area.
NIGERIACRIME gathered that the attackers killed one worshipper, while the resident pastor and three other church members were whisked away when they stormed the worship house, Christian Pentecostal Church.
The suspected kidnappers were said to have stormed the church during a vigil on Sunday morning.
It was learnt that one of their victims, the church’s resident pastor, who was identified as Gwadue Kwaghtyo, was leading prayer when the gunmen invaded the church and opened fire on worshippers.
According to a source from the area, Terkir, the assailants caused multiple chaos in the church.

He said, “Worshippers were in the Church when some gunmen attacked them, one person was killed, five others were injured while four of them including the resident pastor, Rev. Pst. Gwadue Kwaghtyo, were captured and taken to an unknown destination.”
Terkir added that those who sustained severe injuries including acting the Kindred Head of Akemkpa, Zaki Tyokase Ingyutu, are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals in Ugba and Anyiim all in Logo LGA
The incident was confirmed to newsmen on Sunday by the Chairman of Logo LGA, Mrs Salome Tor.
According to him, “It was early this morning (still night hours). A church in one of the branches went for a vigil. As they were praying, they were surrounded by the armed men.
“They kidnapped three people, killed one boy and injured two people with a machete; they are now in the hospital”.
