The Kano State Hisbah Board said it has halted a same sex marriage event allegedly between a bride, Abba and his groom, Mujahid.
The operatives also arrested 19 wedding guests at the venue of the wedding and also, launched manhunt for thevcouple
NigeriaCrime.com learned that 19 guests and others including operators of the event centre (venue for the wedding) have been arrested by operatives who have also launched a manhunt for the couple tagged as bride and groom, Abba and Mujahid who fled upon arrival of the operatives.
Confirming the development, the Commander General Kano stated that hisbah board, Sheikh Dr Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina said a good samaritan hinted to the board about the event organised by the youths who are in their early twenties.
Sheikh Ibn Sina said that the organiser of the event, 21-year-old Salma Usman is in Hisbah custody.
The Commander General continued when he said that the board would hand over those arrested to the police for necessary action, as most of the ladies claimed to have been invited to the wedding from a neighbouring state.
He reiterated the agency’s commitment to eradicating all forms of vices in the state.
Some of those arrested like Salma Usman, Sadiya, Aisha Adam, Maryam Ibrahim and Bilkisu Lukman claimed to have been invited to a birthday party.
They pleaded for leniency and promised not to engage in such acts in future.
In a related development, a 48-year-old Taiwo Amurudeen, a fraudster specialised in dating young ladies and luring them to open new bank accounts using their personal information such as NIN, and International passports were among the suspects paraded on Tuesday at the Lagos State Police Command.
NigeriaCrime.com gathered that Amurudeen who thereafter use the accounts to receive proceeds of fraud was arrested after a case of fraud was reported against him by many victims.
However, investigation led to his arrest in a hotel in Ogun State and the recovery of one unregistered Toyota Avalon saloon car which he bought with the proceeds of his fraudulent activities.
Parading the suspects, the Commissioner Of Police, Lagos State Command, Abiodun Alabi said investigation is ongoing to recover the stolen money.” Suspects will be charged to court after investigation.
