Hunter, son arrested over murder of Secondary school student in Ekiti

A local hunter and his teenage are currently being investigated at Aramoko-Ekiti Divisional Police headquarters in Ado Ekiti State, Command over the shooting incident that led to the death Of a Secondary School Student, identified as Adewale.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the victim, Adewale until his death was a student of Ẹrinjiyan Community High School in Junior Secondary School (JSS) two.

It was gathered that trouble started after the son of local hunter who is also a private security man in charge of the ancient community, took his father’s dane gun, and tested the gun before he allegedly shot the victim to death.

A family member of the victim said Adewale and the suspect are very good friends.
On that fateful day, the suspect’s father placed his locally made dane gun at the corner of the house shortly after returning from the day’s work.

“The suspect took the gun, demonstrated and tested the gun before he shot the Adewale to death.

Adewale was found in the pool of his blood after being shot by the suspect when residents neighbourhood arrived at the scene.”

A Senior Police officer who confirmed the incident said Adewale was murdered with a dane gun by his schoolmate. The case is under investigation at Aramoko-Ekiti Divisional Police headquarters. The corpse of the deceased had been deposited in the morgue at Aramoko-Ekiti general hospital”, he stated.

Following the incident, that occurred at about 10.30 pm on Monday at Eyin-Ogbe quarter, Ẹrinjiyan-Ekiti, community has been thrown into mourning.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Abutu could not be reached, as his mobile phone numbers were switched off.

Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Commandant of Amotekun Corps Brigadier Joe Komolafe, confirmed the receipt of the matter, said that police officers are currently on top of the situation.
