Ibadan Residents Robbed With PoS

There was tension in the Eleshin area, Olomo community in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State as some heavily armed robbers stormed the community and robbed residents with a Point of Sale machine.

It was gathered that the invaders operated freely throughout the period they spent in the community, without residents receiving any assistance from security operatives.

NIGERIACRIME learnt that the robbers, who attacked the community around 1 am on Saturday, used the PoS machine to transfer money from their victims’ bank accounts.

The incident, according to one of the residents, shocked the entire community, causing Olomo and surrounding communities to live in continuous fear that the suspects may return for another round of robbery.

According to the resident, who did not want his name in print, for security reasons, said, “The armed robbers got to the area at the midnight around 1am. They operated freely. They came with a POS machine and transferred some amount of money, which cannot be specified at the moment, from one of their victim’s accounts. They also transferred an undisclosed amount of money from his wife’s account and left.

“They also went away with two phones, iPhone 11 Pro Max and XS Max.”

The case was said to have been reported at the Apete Divisional Police Headquarters.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be reached for an official report by the command as of press time.
