The source said, “Magistrate court registry, Appeal court record office, file room, secretary to the high court judge’s office, office of the high court bailiff were burnt while the chamber of high court judge was partly razed. Speaking on the unfortunate incident, the Sole Administrator of the Oguta LGA, Ofili Ijioma, told newsmen that the arson had been reported to security agents.

Ijioma also pledged that the people behind the attack will be caught and made to face the law.

The latest attack came ten days after the judge in charge of Ejemekwuru customary court, Nnaemeka Ugboma, was murdered while presiding over a court session.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, said that he was still awaiting information from the area.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, on Monday said Imo State led Edo, Kwara, Rivers and Zamfara to make up 240 polling units where elections won’t hold in the country due to insecurity.

Yakubu said Imo has the highest share of the polling units.

“No new registrants chose the polling units and no voters indicated interest to transfer to them during the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), mainly for security reasons. This means that no elections will hold in these polling units,’’ he said.
