Insecurity: Mutfwang imposes 24-hrs curfew in Mangu LGA

Following recent attacks that led to loss of lives and property, Caleb Mutfwang, the Plateau State Governor has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Mangu Local Government Area.

Nigeriacrime.com gathered that Governor, in consultation with the State Security Council, imposed a curfew on the entire Local Government Area to restore law and order.

According to a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere said, “Consequently, movements within the Local Government Area have been banned until further notice except for security personnel and persons on essential duties. Security agencies have therefore been directed to ensure total enforcement of the curfew. Meanwhile, the governor has assured the people that the government is working round-the-clock to restore peace and security in the State.”

In a related development, the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Sunday ordered the State Police Command, the Department of State Services(DSS) and Amotekun Corps to free the abducted State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti, Mr Paul Omotoso and two others from captivity.

Oyebanji stated that Omotoso shouldn’t only be rescued unscathed, but that the perpetrators of the dastardly act be nabbed and made to face the full weight of the laws.

The former Commissioner, Omotoso, and two others were abducted by gunmen along Agbado-Imesi road on Saturday and whisked to an unknown destination.

According to information from family members, Omotoso was said to have earlier attended a wedding at Ikare Akoko, in Ondo State and was returning to Ado Ekiti when the evil men struck.

Oyebanji, represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, gave the directive on Sunday when he visited Omotoso’s family at Imesi Ekiti, Ayekire Local Government area of the state to sympathise with them on the devastating incident.
