Insecurity: Zamfara APC Blames PDP

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Zamfara State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party-led government of handling the issue of insecurity in the state with carelessness.

APC, in a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, by the Party’s publicity secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, blasted Governor Dauda Lawal and his team, raising deep concerns over the worsening insecurity situation in the state.

The party claimed the citizens were reaping thorns in their apple farms, alleging that the killing of innocent citizens has become too rampant with violent terrorists now in the state capital, Gusau.

The statement read, “Just on Monday morning, the bandits had the effrontery to move through farms to attack a police station in Bungudu, killing a policeman just as they simultaneously attacked Kwatar village killing scores as reported by many media outlets.

“Even the State House of Assembly had expressed worries over the development, lamenting that it appears there is no government in the state owing to the disdainful way the bandits are having a field day in their killing spree.

“A few weeks ago, some policemen were killed close to Bungudu and early last week some innocent citizens were reportedly killed at Boko village in Zurmi local government, the same situation in Mada, Wonaka, Ruwan Bore.

“Also in Bukkuyum and Anka, the wave of insecurity is blowing all over the state and the PDP-led government under Dauda Lawal is doing nothing but lamentation which is a sign of failure on the side of the government.

“We are still wondering over his reasons for not appointing even an SSA on security who will be supervising and coordinating security matters on his behalf but only for him to resort to appointing an SA on finance and other social issues neglecting the security of life and properties of the citizens.

“We are calling on him to as a matter of urgency appoint security aides that will assist him rather than just visiting different security formations without any work plan on how to address the security situation in the state where our people are being killed on a daily basis.”

He prayed for the people that had lost their lives and commiserated with their family members, while hoping that the security situation in the state improves.
