JUST IN: Two Dead As Yoruba Agitators Clash In Lagos

At least, two people have been confirmed dead as Yoruba agitators clash in Ojota, a commercial part of Lagos State on Monday.

The clash was reportedly between the agitators and operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, NIGERIACRIME gathered.

Although the reason for the clash cannot be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, but according to video obtained by NIGERIACRIME, one of the agitators who identified as “Southy Igboro”, narrated what allegedly transpired.

He was seen screaming that two of his members were killed during the attack, while also vowing to burn down a police van that has already been seized.

He was calling on Yoruba leaders to come to their aid while also declaring war in Lagos.

NIGERIACRIME observed that a lifeless body of an unidentified middle-aged man was on the floor.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin issued a statement on the bloody fracas.

Hundeyin said, “Miscreants masquerading as Yoruba Nation Agitators came out in their hundreds, disrupting social and commercial activities at Ojota.”

He said in response, officers from Alausa Division and the Raid Respond Squad (RRS) stepped in to disperse the unlawful gathering and prevent a breakdown of law and order.

“The miscreants attacked the police, shooting, and destroying two vehicles in the process.

“One person has been confirmed dead, while two police officers shot by the miscreants are currently receiving treatment. Four suspects have been arrested and investigations have commenced.”

Hundeyin vowed that the Lagos State Police Command would not allow any person or group of persons to disrupt the peace in Lagos.
