No fewer than seven suspected traffic robbers were arrested while robbing motorists on Ketu-Ikorodu Expressway in Kosofe area of Lagos State.
This was made known by the Lagos State Police Command over the weekend.
The Command accused the seven suspects of constantly terrorising motorists plying the route.
Confirming the development, the command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement issued via his verified Twitter handle reiterates the police’s readiness to reduce traffic robbery in the state to the barest minimum.
Hundeyin said that five of the suspects were arrested on Thursday at 11.00 a.m. while they were alleged to be attacking a motorist at Kosofe Bus Stop, near Mile 12 Food Market.

“On Thursday, five traffic robbers swooped on a motorist at Kosofe Bus Stop, along Ikorodu Road.
“The Ketu Police Division’s patrol team arrested them all, and that action led to the arrest of two others,” he said.
The spokesman said that the suspects are between the ages of 18 and 28.
He said that investigation was ongoing at the divisional level on the arrested suspects.
Recall that the command arrested 35 suspected armed robbers between June and August, 2022.
The spokesman who also confirmed the figure added that 13 other suspected armed robbers were killed in different parts of the state during encounters with the police within the same period.
He said 37 robbery operations were foiled in different parts of the state within the same time.
