A man, identified as Bode has allegedly killed his friend, Tunde Akinmoyewa with a dane gun at Laoso Village in Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was reportedly testing a new locally-made gun last Tuesday when the incident happened.

The Ondo State Police Command on Friday said it had begun the trial of the suspect.

The deceased was described by the police as an ex-convict.

A source in the community, however, said the 27-year-old man was shot dead by his friend while testing a bulletproof charm.

The source said, “To test the efficacy of the charms, Tunde asked his friend (Bode) to shoot him first. After Tunde’s friend picked up the guy and shot him (Tunde), suddenly, he fell down and died on the spot.

She said, “One Tunde Akinmoyewa, an ex-convict who is also a cultist, while testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured was accidentally shot by one of his boys named Bode, surname yet unknown, as a result of which he died while being taken to hospital for medical attention.
