The mother of a teenage girl who was ganged raped by members of a cult group has revealed that her daughter was attacked while running errands for her.
According to the victim’s mother, who reported the case at Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters Ogun State Police Command, “I sent my 15-year-old daughter on an errand at Akute Odo area, but she was ambushed on her way by Daniel Njoku. Daniel forcefully took her to their hideout where members of his gang beat, gang-raped and forcefully initiated her into their cult group.”
Explaining further, the victim’s mother said my daughter was threatened by the suspects that she will be killed if she dare inform anybody about the incident.”
Sequel to the report made at Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Andrew Akinseye detailed his detectives to go after the hoodlums.
Acting on credible intelligence, the detectives, stormed the hideout of the gang in the Akute Odo area and arrested three members of the gang.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime.
According to them, we were desperately looking for more members to join their group, especially female members, and that was what prompted us to do what we did.
Confirming the arrest, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command said that three suspects identified as Daniel Njoku a.k.a Agege, Damilare Ogundiran and Adebayo Olamilekan have been arrested in connection with the case.”
“They were arrested following a report lodged at Ajuwon Divisional Headquarters by the mother of the victim, who complained to the station.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti cultist section of the state criminal investigation department for discreet investigation.
