NSCDC nab 2 electricity wire vandals in Katsina

Two suspects have been arrested by the Special Anti-vandal Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Katsina State Command for vandalising and stealing electricity wires at Kusa Junction, along Jibia Road, Katsina.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that two suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence by the Special Anti-Vandal unit attached to Sabon Gida Division.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSC Buhari Hamisu both suspects Ibrahim Rabiu (27) and Wada Tanimu (25), are said to be from Daddara village in Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State.

While being paraded, the suspects confessed to committing the crime. They revealed that on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024, they went to Kusa junction along Jibia road, Jibia local government area and vandalised the aluminium wire at about 2300hrs.

The exhibits recovered from the suspects by the special Anti-Vandal team include 25 pieces of aluminium conductor.

DSC Hamisu also disclosed that investigation reveals that the suspects had similarly in time past vandalised KEDCO aluminium wire and sold it to one Jamilu Hassan, who is now at large. He said the suspects will be prosecuted after a thorough investigation.

The Katsina State Commandant, CC Jamilu A. Indabawa, calls on the good people of Katsina State to be law-abiding and obey the rules and regulations. He further warns all criminals in the state to desist from their evil acts as the corps and other security agencies will not relent in prosecuting them.

The Corps in the state is also urging the general public to support the security agencies by providing actionable and timely intelligence that will help uncover the activities of miscreants in the state. The command remains dedicated to ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the good people of Katsina state and Nigeria as a whole.
