Ondo Monarch’s Abductors Demand N100m

The abductors of Oso Ajowa Akoko in Akoko West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Clement Jimoh, have demanded the sum of N100 million to release the monarch.

The traditional ruler’s family was contacted 72 hours after his abduction.

Recall that NIGERIACRIME reported that Oba Jimoh was kidnapped on Thursday at about 10.15 pm at his residence by some armed men who took him to an unknown destination.

A source narrated that when the gunmen stormed the residence of the victim, they shot sporadically into the air.

They also shot at the monarch’s main door to gain access into his residential building before whisking him away.

Earlier, the source said, “When they came, they surrounded the building and started ordering the monarch and other occupants to open the door and surrender willingly, but nobody answered.

“At this point, they started shooting. They destroyed the main door and entered.

“None of the family members had been contacted, but we knew they were kidnappers.”

In a new revelation, the source disclosed that “the kidnappers have contacted the family and demanded N100million.”

It was gathered that the residents of the community have sought spiritual assistance as they organised an inter-denominational service for the safe return of the monarch.

A community leader, Mr Soji Ogedengbe, disclosed that an inter-denominational prayer, fasting, and vigils were ongoing for the purpose of getting the kidnapped monarch released.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the men of the command were still in the forest to rescue the monarch.

“Efforts are still ongoing to rescue the victim”, the police spokesperson said.
