Police Arrest Man For Killing, Burying Colleague

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested a 63-year-old Abuja-based panel beater, identified as Taiwo Ojo over the death of his colleague, Philip Kura.

It was gathered that Ojo allegedly killed, burnt and buried Kura in a shallow grave in the Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to reports, Ojo and the victim were said to have engaged each other in an argument over money on December 23, which later led to the suspect killing Kura.

The source said, “Ojo and Kura had a disagreement at his workshop on December 23. Ojo hit the victim with a shovel and he fell and died. He drew his corpse into banana trees shed close by where he later burnt and buried the victim’s remains in a shallow grave.”

Meanwhile,  four people have reportedly been killed in a road crash that occurred at a junction along Kurum-Bogoro road in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The accident which involved two motorcycles, occurred on Friday December 30, at about 7pm.

An eyewitness said that the two motorcyclists who were coming from opposite directions had a head-on collision at the junction leading to the death of four persons while two travellers sustained varying degrees of injuries.

It was also learnt that before the crash, one of the motorcycles operated without headlights making it difficult for the other rider from the opposite direction to be aware, hence the crash.
